After all of that wouldn't it be nice if that same person, who understands exactly what you want to do, came in and set everything up for you as well as trained you and your staff on how to use that equipment?

We are seasoned professionals with many years experience in the industry. We know what it takes to succeed and we understand that this industry is a very expensive one in which to work. That is why we want to make sure that you know exactly what you are getting right off the bat and that the gear you purchase will be the right gear for your situation and help you to make more money and even more important, more music.

Consulting rates start at $75/hr (for studio concepts and gear) and $125/hr (for technical support). The initial consultation via phone is absolutely free.

We will go anywhere in the world to consult, however, any travel that is required is the sole responsibility of the customer (and no, we don't start the clock ticking the moment we get off the phone with you). We try to be very reasonable and get right down to business.

Getting your studio exactly the way you always dreamed it to be is our number one goal, and whether that means an "all at once" project or a step-by-step modular approach, we're with you at every turn.

Here is our general approach to designing a recording studio:

Setting out to build or expand a recording studio is a very serious undertaking. Here at AudioLot, our engineers are well versed in all aspects of this process, including spec'ing out consoles and various pro audio gear, planning for and choosing a building, working with (or bringing in) architects and furniture designers to customize your design, training your staff, and of course, working within your budget to help you understand why things should or should not be attempted.

The planning stage:

The first thing we like to do is sit down face to face with the client so that we can have undivided attention from both sides. All the goals and visions of the end result are discussed at great length and tons of questions and scenarios are brought up. We like to think far into the future and not just getting past day one.

From there we get with the various manufacturers whose products will be utilized in the studio to find out lead times and what needs to be done on their end to deliver a well tested product to us by a specific date.

Then we'll meet with the team leaders who will be performing the actual installation to write a "spec book" on the project. This book documents every single stage of the installation, including blueprints of the building, timelines, deadlines, budgetary requirements, and anything else that will show exactly what we are doing so nothing comes as a surprise.

The Buildout:

Contracts are signed, monies are transferred and we go to work. If we are involved in the design of the building, we'll work with the construction teams and acoustical engineers to make sure everything is going as planned. All product orders are placed at this time and we begin coordinating with all manufacturers to make sure that everyone is on the same page and there are no holdups.

Once everything is delivered our installation teams go in, set everything up, and thoroughly test each piece of equipment to make sure everything is as it should be.

The Training:

If required, our training team comes in and sits down with the staff of the facility and answers any and all questions. Additionally full presentations and hands on training of all of the equipment is done to insure that the staff is well versed in the studio that has been designed. If you're brand new to the world of audio recording and/or want to take some audio mixing classes to brush up or learn new skills, we can do that too!

Project Completion:

AudioLot prides itself on meeting or beating (usually beating) project completion dates. When everything is completed and everyone is happy, then and only then is the project done in our eyes. Our services however do not end there. If requested, we will setup maintenance and support schedules. We are able to be reached at anytime within the hours designated by the support agreement (whether that's during normal business hours or 24 hours a day 7 days a week).
